Paul
Dumais
is a 25-year old student studying for the priesthood in the Catholic
church. Paul was diagnosed this summer with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (cancer
of the lymphatic system) and spent some time in the hospital. After the
completion of various tests and chemo-therapy, Paul came to Radiant
Health from Ohio.
"While
in the hospital I was treated, against my will, with chemo-therapy.
I knew the short-term effects of any benefits from such treatments,
as well as the high risks and side effects which were as serious, if
not more serious, than the actual malignant growth itself. Along with
the chemo-therapy treatment, followed nausea, hair loss and a
depression of the immune system. This led me to the consideration of
an alternative approach to the illness which would avoid the high
risk, toxic standard medical treatment for cancer.
"My
desire to seek such a non-toxic treatment of my illness led a friend
of mine to recommend the Radiant Health Institute of which I soon
availed myself. The approach of Dr. Ede Koenig seemed logical and
natural. The cleansing of the colon coupled with the use of herbs and
natural foods, fresh air, pure water, etc. seemed to meet my
expectations and desire for a natural solution to a serious problem.
"During
the treatment at RHI, I found that even with the week-long fasting
during the first phase, my energy was more constant, my strength was
somewhat more vigorous, my alertness and my mental awareness was invigorating.
"I
discovered that because of the close monitoring of the blood sugar
levels and chemical imbalances, I was able to more accurately
identify these imbalances within my own body and begin to adjust them
with herbal formulations and supplements along with a more
knowledgeable application of diet.
"I
would like to mention briefly the three informative highlights with
which I was most impressed:

Auto-intoxication.
Without colon cleansing, the body is poisoning and re-poisoning itself
creating sluggishness of diet and elimination due to habits and
patterns which develop in a person’s body due to taking in pollution by
food low in fiber and high in protein resulting in sluggish
elimination. This seems to be the cause of so many so-called diseases
and ailments. Therefore, this seems like a good place to begin
treatment - precisely because of the amount of toxins sustainable in a
treatment program involving whole foods, exercise, etc., fresh source
of water would seem to address this issue because of the disease and
cause of the ailment opposed to the mere symptom of disease seems to me
the most reasonable route, the most lasting route to a wise path.

The
second point of most interest to me regards oxygen, especially the
oxygenation of the blood allowing the body to provide a fresh pure
source of oxygen to the body and blood stream. The study I have done
here at the retreat would indicate that such an increase in the
oxygen in the blood leads to a greater source of energy and greater
healing power of the body. The body is able to restore itself more
easily with an additional source of oxygen.

The
third element of interest to me is the knowledge of the benefit of
removing free fats (vegetable oils of all kinds) from the diet.
Imbalances in blood sugar and their implications of harmful results.
"I
am encouraged that I have been able to find such a natural health
and healing program as that which Dr. Ede provides at the Radiant

Thank
you for your continued help and friendship. I know you are busy but I
was hoping you could take the time to make a written statement of
evaluation based on your most recent review of my condition. This would
be very beneficial to me as I re-evaluate my decisions related to last
year’s diagnosis of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. This also may be of some
benefit to those to which I am accountable in preparing to return to
school/seminary.

I
have been Paul Dumais’ physician for about one year. Paul had Hodgkin’s
Lymphoma - a cancer of the lymph system - for which he was given some
chemotherapy. On his own and with the help of a naturopathic physician,
(Dr. Ede Koenig of Radiant Health Institute), Paul made some dietary
changes and took some herbal medicines. He seems to have had an
excellent response and at this point seems disease free. It is likely
that Paul will be able to carry out his teaching duties at school next
year.
